Same here. Mother immigrated from Germany. Father is from Saskatoon, but his parents are Dutch immigrants.

I love it. Reminds me of a video clip I saw of what I assume was a mexican immigrant (he was holding the camera) in the US at a Tea-Party rally, where people held signs reading "Go home immigrants" or something. The camera guy started telling the protestors to all go back to Europe. They responded by saying "You go back to your home" he said "this is my home, my people are indigenous to this continent, go back to Europe." They then said "you are Spanish, go back to Spain." He responded "The Spanish invaded my country. I am not Spanish. I am indigenous to this continent." It went on for some time. It was hilarious.

Born in Calgary, raised in Saskatchewan, and now back again. I get so confused every time the Stamps play the Riders. My sister settled on just cheering for the defence.

Native Calgarian, my great grandfather immigrated to Calgary in 1905 from Scotland, he met my great grandmother while working on a farm in Ireland.... my only connection to Canada is my grandmother on my dads side, she was born in Glace Bay Nova Scotia, everyone else was either born in Calgary, Scotland or Ireland....

Mom was born in Calgary in '57. I was born in the Foothills in '82 but have lived in Airdrie my entire life. I do not consider myself a native Calgarian as I've always been an Airdronian.

I was born in Calgary, and basically spent my mid 20s to early 30s there, but now I live elsewhere.

Edit: Boy... at 1:50 that video really takes a real parade-through-red-square left turn.

Born in Calgary 1968 at the now blown up general hospital in bridgeland. There I resided until I was 7-8 yrs. I always seemed to return though. It was like my home town. North battlefield being the other side of my life. Calgary will always be my first love. When I am away for a long time, it's Calgary that I miss, not the people who are there. Sorry folks.

I must say, this thread is a pinch of an off-putter. What the heck is a "native Calgarian" really? The city and this country is made up of people from elsewhere. Heck, 15K years ago there were no humans in the western hemisphere. Big deal if you were born in one location or another. If you want stats, StatsCan has numbers. If you're Donald Trump, you're not wanted.
