Dutch Delight ... Den Haag (The Hague) / Delft / Gouda

3 cities near the coast...then again in the Netherlands you're never far away from the coast. The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government and parliament. Gouda is known for its cheese while Delft is famous for its pottery.

Very good pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I´d like to visit The Hague, Delft and Gouda. It´s very pretty. Classic buildings are very nice.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Certainly worth a trip. And other great cities like Utrecht, Leiden, Harleem, Amsterdam, Rotterdam are just a short drive away.

Only works in English as the Dutch pronunciation is quite different from Good-a...

Great pics!

I'm sure you have more so keep m coming!

I like the Portuguese embassy, did you also take one of the American?

Arab men arguing over cheese is funny. But my favourite is the Gouda City Hall (and I usually like streetlife pics the best).

Last time I was in The Hague was November (mainly to check out the Chinatown and show my cousin and his friend around), but it has been ages since I've been to Gouda and Delft. These pics especially make me want to go visit Gouda again.

Nope, didn't make it to the US embassy. I bought an architectural guide a while ago and it looks like quite an interesting building though. Maybe next time...

DEN HAAG

"Plein" square next to the parliament. In the back you can see a modern addition. I think it's a new entrance for the public:

Plein Den Haag/The Hague

Ridderzaal, part of the parliament as well. Used for the state opening of parliament:

Looks like the good life. Where do the Netherlands rank on the "happy scale" I know Denmark is always # 1. These places look pretty darn rosey.
