Yimby's article seems legit though.

I would not consider that journalism. Anyway, the internet, Curbed.com in this case, has produced a wealth of Hudson Yards photos taken last week during a media tour.
In this case it's a Max Touhey photo of the ~current state of the 30 HY site. Photo is looking south from 511 West 33rd Street, 30 HY site is the foreground, with the giant trusses to be placed south of the white LIRR building to bridge the 150 foot yard throat. I expect the 1st steel for this site to be going up in the next couple of months, but it will be for the overbuild platform to the west (photo right) of the 30 HY site itself. That platform will be used as a staging area to overbuild the LIRR building (minus it's second floor) and bridge the tracks, etc... That information was extracted from the March HY platform construction video which states that they wil build fomr both south AND north towards the middle.
Heck, who knows, maybe those big steel pieces in the foreground between the red crane and LIRR building are for that platform/staging area.
And I've heard rumors that they filed paperwork with the NYC DoB for 500 West 33rd Street :-)
