Wow , Calgary is going to look sweet.

BTW CrtlAltDel, what would it take for you to do a Vancouver rendering?

Updated the Pano with Exchange, based on the 3 tower working sketch.
Johnny, I'm slowly chipping away it.
Vanman, I attempted a Vancouver rendering, but I had no idea where these buildings went. I'd love to do it, but Boris and ZZebian made excellent references for the Calgary projects, so it was easy. I'm interested in Edmonton too, but again I don't have a map. And Toronto has their own awesome renderers.
BTW, that Centre Street shot has bits of Palliser and Livingston, as well as a woman on the bridge looking at EnCana.
I seriously have way too much time on my hands...

Very Nice How much?

Super impressive. I see that you now have Arriva on both ends of the Pano, nice ones. What is the proposed height of the Exchange? It is just massive, I don't suppose that will start anytime soon.

Wow that third rendering of the Bow looks much better than the current plans in my opinoin... It seems much more creative, and the first thing I thought when I looked at it was a saddle, very representive of the history of Calgary.

Edit: I second vanman's question, what would it take for you to do a quality Vancouver representation... its been a while since someone did one, and I have no photoshop skill whatsoever

Awesome work CtrlAltDel - always, always, appreciated here! And yes, I know how much effort it takes to do this - which makes it even more impressive!

EDIT: Yes, I agree that the extended framework on top of the Bow would've been quite cool...is this too difficult to do in Calgary for some reason? I thought there was at least one other Foster building that did do this?

I also think the cars in that shot aren't real (yet); the leftmost one looks suspicously like this concept car shaped like a fish that I saw mentioned on Discovery a while back. Nice touch if so!

I wish more talented people had too much time on their hands.

Continuing the observations, some of these pics have been circulating through the office spam lately. I've even been sent some from colleagues at other companies who I hardly ever talk to, but know that I keep an eye on development. I don't have the heart to email back "yeah, um, I saw them 3 months ago when the original artist posted them to a forum I hang out on".

Are the Union Square buildings going to be lined up on 1st or 13th? It looks like they are pouring piles along 13th, besides there definitely isn't room for 2 buildings to go right beside the Crazy Horse.

EDIT: nevermind, looking at the Union website I see that the buildings will straddle the Crazy Horse.

for anyone that is interested.

Never went, did it close just before the construction started, or before?

I am curious how it will be incorporated into the podium.

I'm really happy for Calgary that their getting all this construction but all I jhope is that with all this office construction that residential willl happen as well. Also I hope Calgary won't do the same mistakes as Toronto in the early 90's. Calgary needs to make sure that they don't over stock the office market with to much space and run up the vacancy rate in to the 20+% like Toronto did!

Well I think our vacancy rate is hovering around 0.5% right now, so we will need a LOT of buildings to do that.

We have vacancy in our office buildings? One would think that since all the boom in boomtown, we would find ourselves ridiculously short on any type of vacant space...
