BMU is used for cleaning the windows and necessary exterior maintenance.
Is that what this is?

Yea from the Ben Franklin it’s pretty cool vantage point. At first you just see the spire, then about midway span the part directly below the spire looks to be a close resemblance of the top of Comcast center. Almost the same height as well.

The 2nd photo is awesome; actually their all awesome but that 2nd photo is a great panorama.

The moment 30th Street Station and Schuylkill Yards is built out; the skyline will have an expanse from 40th street to Delaware Avenue; from here and from Belmont Plateau we can already see this but when its built out it will have height. Oh I love this. I just hope I live long enough to see it.

Pics by me. Taken today.

The last one edited the bottom portion as to not show the pickup. No worries, I was not on the freeway walking around, but a passenger driving into S.Philly.

I enlarged the original photo I took.

Philly is great! I had the view of an Eagle today.

You can barely see the FMC from that shot.

this one's a miss for me--i was hoping the lantern would help even out the proportions and the massing but i dunno it just feels awkward--still gotta wait until the crane is down and it's all wrapped up but IMHO it definitely lacks the romance of the Jahn towers or even the brooding authority of RAMSA's Comcast building.

am i alone in this?

Many buildings have their unique style, especially architects too. Every building in the skyline doesn't share their design (except for 1 and 2 LP) and all of the classic Philly buildings have their own design. I don't think trying something new for a skyline would hurt

I was really down on this as it was going up

Not sure the pictures do it justice but in person the Lantern is really starting to pull this together IMHO and I was suspect of the designs and up until about two months ago the progress

My sole gripe with the entire building isn't a part of the building at all – I hate those damned, annoying as hell strobe lights of the 18th St pedestrian crossing.

I don't know about you; but in certain conditions this tower is starting to remind me of a charging rhinoceros.

I spent too much time looking at it in context of the sheer girth. If you train your mind to see the beacon element as the "visual fulcrum", whatever qualms you might have could soon be gone.
