Central Market to open two more Dallas locations:

The first location will replace the Albertsons West Village in Uptown.

Project Location

The second location will replace the Sun Fresh at W NW Highway and Midway in Preston Hollow, less than a mile from the Central Market-HEB division office.

Project Location

When open, there will be four Central Markets in Dallas, and seven in DFW.

Hey DFW folks. Two questions:

1. I heard a rumor that the Trinity River Park is about to get started. Is that true at all?

2. I heard another rumor that HEB is indeed moving into DFW. Is that true at all? On this second question, I heard there are a couple new Central Markets being planned somewhere, so this may be the source of the rumor.

If yes on either of these, awesome! Just wanted to check from folks who would actually know rather than trust hearsay...

HEB is already in DFW. There has been an HEB in Waxahachie for a long time.

1. Don't count on it.

2. You didn't "hear" about Central Market. Read the previous post.

Construction on the Trinity River Project can start at any moment. There is already $50 million committed to it. However, the stupid NTTA toll road is what is holding everything up.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I did "hear" about it, though I'll concede that I missed your post which would have been most helpful.

Any chance normal HEB stores would make a showing farther north? I went to college in the DFW and have a good bit of family in the area...I know they're missing it (they're all from Austin / Central Texas originally).

I just wanted to send a BIG D sized thank you to all of you who answered me about urban areas to visit while there over Thanksgiving break. We had a wonderful time but were unable to reach all of the areas, guess we'll have to go back!!! Of the area's suggested our favorite was the Turtle Creek area, you all have a great city, enjoy it!

I believe so.

Corporate is rather quiet about their plans to penetrating the DFW market.

That said, HEB has purchased more than a dozen plots of land in the following cities: Allen, Carrollton, Corinth, Dallas, DeSoto, Fort Worth, Frisco, Grand Prairie, McKinney, Murphy and Plano.

Land purchase is a good sign - and that's a pretty good spread across the western half of the metroplex. Hope it comes to something.

according to the article on the two new Central Markets, HEB sold most of the other lots. They truly were investments. I would guess someone will put a store at those sites as they are in great locations. They just won't be HEBs.

Nice aerial. I might need to purchase me a drone to do flyovers of new projects. Someone should send one up in Frisco. there are like 10 cranes off the tollway.
