From what I've heard the interior demo is well underway. The Hillman facilities have been moved to a provisional locale...

It's entirely probable that the hospital entrance would remain on Sansom if they are moving back into this building: the property stretches all the way back.

This sort of reminds me of Olympic Tower on 5th Av in NY. I just hope it isn't blue. At this point all new construction should be restricted to not using blue glass.

I love blue tinted glass. I hope it is all glass.

It looks like it's all glass. Most new hi-rises are. I think that must be the cheapest material available for skinning a building these days. But have you by any chance noticed how many blue glass buildings there are now in Center City, all west of Broad? Liberty one and two, Ratar, Blue Cross and the Murano is already more than enough in less than one square mile.....imo.

I forgot that both Comcast and Cire Center appear to be blue on a sunny day and if they ever put up Cire 2 it will surely be blue as well. This building on Chestnut will be very conspicuous from the South and West and it doesn’t need to be more blue.

Regardless, I am not complaining. Any skyscraper in this area will help fuel more in then near future. Demo of the Sidney Hillman is WELL underway... we should be seeing this skyscraper rise soon.

I heard through word of mouth that this project is expected to be completed by Q2 of 2013. John Buck Co. is also hoping to have the medical center demo complete and be into the ground prepping for foundations by the end of this year.

Does someone have the ability to photoshop this highrise within the skyline? Curious to see how it would fit in.

They have closed and fenced off one lane of Chestnut St in front of Hillman and it doesn't look temporary so I guess they are serious about the demo portion of this project at least. Of course that doesn't mean it won't turn into another parking lot.

This thing will get built. John Buck Co. has a pretty good track record in Chicago and the project is fully approved. Construction is supposed to start before the New Year.

It will probably be a little skinnier, but the high seems pretty much spot on.

Thanks. It gives some depth to the skyline from this vantage point.

Nice Bryson

Im wondering if they should have went with the same angle as the Hillman Center was on. That buildings core was angled diagonally NE to SW.

The views from this tower at least on the upper stories would have been of the Ben Franklin Parkway and Rittenhouse Square instead of west view- 2400 Chestnut and E views- of Chestnut Street.

Looking forward to this one. Will standout eventhough its just 34 stories 380 feet. For comparisons sake 2400 Chestnut the white building just to the west is 337 ft.

This thing is gonna be 380? Damn. I didn't even know it was 300.

That's huge for that area, the height I mean.
