^I'd like them to chop off one of the mismatched facades while they're at it. The design now is Jekyll on one side and Hyde on the other.

I think it's pretty cool. Glass on south side is for park views and the jewelers row side tries to blend in a bit with the row. It's a unique building for sure.

Who cares? You can't see both sides at the same time.

Nope. Concern about having the north face match the south face are meaningless. Considering all the other design and legal issue surrounding this proposal, this north/south question is near the bottom of the list for me. Some people like the idea, some don't, I don't care. But right now this seems like voicing opinions about the shade of brick or the tint of the glass; there are bigger fish to fry.

You do realize the world is 3 dimensional right? Beyond looking at this building directly from the north or the south there are a whole host of angles that you could potentially look at the building from and see both halves of its ugly facade. Truly the ugliest project proposed in recent memory, when you add the fact that they'll be tearing down a substantial part of jeweler's row, I'd prefer if Toll just fucked off back to the suburbs and left this street alone.

For not caring, you are going on a bit. It's a good thing that this building will never be seen in profile from the east or west. I'm getting the feeling that this never will be seen at all, so no matter.

The height reduction is a good thing, was a bit of a mismatch design wise will be less visible now.

Is Toll Brother's drunk? Like for real, is they drunk?

Toll renews Jewelers Row development efforts with new permit request

Quote:
Horsham-based developer Toll Bros. has resumed its efforts to build a residential tower on the Jewelers Row shopping street in Center City.

Timothy Spreitzer, a spokesman for the Toll’s urban-focused City Living division, said in an email Thursday that the company has “filed a new application for zoning approval based upon community input and will continue to work with the city throughout the approval process.”

The company said at that time that it would begin work on approvals for a 23-story tower.

Spreitzer offered no details Thursday on the height or other attributes of the building for which it is now seeking approvals.

^ 22.67 is the average number of floors. Maybe that's where they are getting the number this time. :-)

52? When did that happen? That's colossal, by Philly standards.

That 0.67 floor is a pain.
