Waite Air Photos from Dec. 30

Don't know if it's been posted here yet but there are some nice new aerial photos of downtown from Waite Air Photos taken December 30th.

This picture really shows how much developable land there is in the east end of the CBD... really no basis to the fears that we are going to run out of land to build offices any time soon.

I love the DTES. That area will be sweet once it is cleaned up. I would like to see some taller buildings there, but no glass towers like Yaletown I want to see brick building which fit into the neighborhood. The whole area could be like Gastown.

That's an excellent photo. The DTES is more than people give it credit for.

BTW, I'm somewhat ticked off about Waite Photos' coverage of Calgary. Sometime in the last few months, all the recent years' images were removed, so now the latest Calgary photos available are from September 2002. Edmonton only has sets from 2001 and 1996...
