I really hope that the students who get to live there appreciate the building

Hey George, you wouldn't happen to have a shot a little further back to see just how tall it is would you? I can't tell exactly what floor its on...

So where exactly is that Buckingham proposal planned for? Directly north of where this tower will sit on the corner?

This trend of preserving old facades is a dream come true. Way to go, Chicago.

It's nice that Chicago preserves the facades, but at the same time it's kind of sad. Nowadays, it's hard to come by new buildings that have beautiful intricacies on stone work. I guess if preserving is the only way to have them, then it's better than nothing

I think it's not only the only way to go, but the BEST way to go. I think we are all sick of Lagrange's pathetic attempts to recreate a bygone style. These day's it would take far to much money to accurately and faithfully recreate all the little things we love about older buildings, and would probably detract from areas of modern importance such as glass quality or underground parking.

Speaking of LaGrange, I can't wrap my head around the fact that the most prolific source of pomo garbage won't be gracing out city with his turds during the next boom. If you look at the last boom, a good percentage of the junk designs came out of his firm, you have to wonder if another shitty architect will step up and take his place, or if we'll be rid of his portion of the garbage from now on?

I didn't have time to shoot a photo from car, but the core is visible from grant park now

It's going to be in a nice spot, especially from the south

The best way to go is preserving entire superior old buildings while having exciting new ones in place of those that are not worth preserving.
