^ Someone needs to get a life.

Depending on which way you swing, a woman or a man can help in that regard.

Reading those tiny little tea leaves, are we?

Shut up. At least he is showing that he cares about what happens in our downtown. There is nothing wrong with caring for your home city. Keep up the good work HX_Guy!!!!

That's on of the problems with communication on the Internet, you can never tell the meanings and emotions behind the words that are written down here.

^^ Just look at what I just wrote, depending how you read that I may sound like I'm horribly upset or just with a laid-back tone with not a care in the world.

...Just one of the many things I hate about the Internet, carry on.

I was kidding, guys. That's what the smiley faces were for.

I pay no attention to post counts. I've been around here for a long time, and even longer in real life.

The crane looks gooood! No sign of any steel going up yet...it's not even on site, thought I assume they will bring it on a truck daily? Also, I realized the webcam image we've been looking at only shows the elevator core peaking...we should be able to see the actual tower frame once it goes up another 3-4 floors.

On with the pictures...

And an arcade I actually don't mind! I guess if it's not too low and the columns are thin and spread apart, it can look good and be functional.

I think the biggest development is the cladding of the parking garage. It could be finished by the end of the week and will look good from the street level. By the time the tower tops out the lobby and ground level may be nearly ready for walk-throughs and the parking portion functionaly complete.

Speaking of cladding, you'll notice they started putting up the glass portion on the parking garage that will run up the front of the building. I just noticed today but the entrance to the building will not be directly in the middle but offset to the right...kind of odd but different and cool at the same time.

Elevator core getting higher...and more cladding on the garage portion...

I have a feeling the steel isn't going to be going up for a while. If I remember correctly from pictures of other buildings I've seen with a steel frame, the elevator core has to get up pretty high first because the steel floors get assembled faster then the elevator core.

In my dreams the new tallest goes at the block bounded by Van Buren, Polk, Central and 1st Ave where the Central Transit Station is. Something like a modern version of Clevelands Terminal Tower, but I won't complain wherever we get one.
