Only it would have windows about half way up the tower at that height.

If Dallas can create a World Class Arts District, a higher class of living in and around downtown, and have a mordern class transportation system then surely we can have our own version of a rotating tower. Sorry Big Dreams...

Don't count out this type of architecture for Dallas; we may see this for Hall Arts Center Tower. The HKS office in the lobby at McKinney Ave. has yet another change to the Styrofoam model of the proposed Hall Arts Tower; this one appears to be 50 to 52-stories. The upper floors of the tower part are twisted or slanted, very interesting looking tower. I should have taken a pic but the lobby was too crowded with people.

Check this one out, I found a pic of the Hall Arts Center Tower.
I don't know if this is an earlier design or the latest, but this is the one that I saw at the HKS lobby at McKinney Ave.

I think it's an older one. This design is my favorite one followed by the one on the previos page.

I wish/hope that this is the design Hall moves forward with! It's a gorgeous and striking tower that when combined with the Spire development, Museum Tower, and all the other stuff coming down the pike, is going to really makeover this end of the skyline.

That is the new fountain in the Woodall Rogers Park. It covers the highway. The fountain is to be built of stacked glass.

sarcasm?

lol

Anyways, if only that twisting tower was a reality. They've already built twin towers like that in an edge city of Toronto, Missasauga, the thread is on this site.

Haha yea. That bridge is done in true stereotypical Dallas form. All the other buildings under construction look fantastic, DFW has got some pretty buildings going up.

Excellent photo recap of all the cool buildings under construction in Dallas right now!

I know JoninATX posted a picture of the new University Hospital in the Dallas Medical District but just so everyone knows that hospital is actually under construction as of 04-01-11.

The new $800 million dollar University Hospital under construction is a 1.3 million square foot, 12 story, 460 bed teaching and research hospital for UT Southwestern Medical in the Dallas Medical District, which is about 3.5 miles northwest of Downtown Dallas.

Here's the picture again:

Here is a link to an excellent article in the Dallas Business Journal from 04-01-11 describing the University Hospital project and the enormous positive impact it will have on Dallas on many levels:

http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/pr...spital-at.html

One additional "new construction" project to add to the photo recap is the new Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor Medical Center. The Sammons Cancer Center just finished construction and opened very recently. It links to the huge Baylor Medical complex via a skybridge over Worth Street. The Baylor Medical District is about 3/4 of a mile from Downtown Dallas.

The new cancer hospital is a $350 million dollar, 467,000 square foot, 10 story hospital that looks more like a luxury hotel than a hospital:
