I'm thinking it's a no-brainer for a hotel project, especially if the height limitations are more restrictive.
It was supposed to compliment the PRR building to the right.

...which it would do nicely, but I don't expect that would be a determining factor with regard to height or appearance. It doesn't complement Comcast Center as i did in the original One Penn. Plaza renderings. Where's a "just build something" California pension fund when you need one?

thats exactly what I remember. It was supposed to be a modern interpretation of the PRR HQ and match it in height.

And it was also supposed to be built if/when Comcast needed more space and fortunately, Comcast's needs went way beyond that.

I'm really digging the glass and mix of textures. At first I thought it looked chaotic, but it's a nice departure from Philadelphia's often "safe" designs.

From the renderings it looked a lot like a recycled Norman Foster design, and it definitely seems inspired by some of their others, but the materials will really set it apart as a unique building. Very excited to see this, and I hope it inspires additional edginess.

If there was an issue it looks like it was solved since the west crane (the rumored cause) was jumped over the weekend.

Thanks. Assuming there was a problem, do any engineering types know how it would be solved? Besides ensuring that the mistake wasn't repeated going higher, how do you mend what was already built? Would you somehow add a layer of cement to one side of the core whilst shaving some off of the other?
