To make sure the NAM works properly, make sure the file is in the Sim City 4 plugins folder and extract the data from the zip file. You should have an installer there.

Click the installer to install the NAM into Sim City 4. During the setup you can choose what parts of the NAM you want to install.

If it did install correctly, you should seen the different menus in the transportation tools and there should be a NAM logo at the end of the highways tab in the game to show that the mod is installed.
Yeah, this isn't going so hot. I am not computer minded.

I can't unzip anything. I have an extract option, but that demands I create a new file name or something.

I just right click on the zip file then click on extract all. A file name will show up and tell you where it will be extracted to (usually the same spot that the zip file is in). Then I click extract and the files are extracted. A window will usually show up showing what files have been extracted. Then I just click on the installer button to complete the process.

Buildings and Structures of Canada

Thanks SkahHigh

Here's some buildings and structures that I found from Canada in Sim City 4.
Please not that some models are up to years years old and that the textures are not the same as today's standards.
Also some models are not scaled 133% to reflect the building heights in Sim City 4 so some buildings may be under scaled.

Halifax & Dartmouth NS

Saint John NB, Charlottetown PEI, Fredericton NB, Wolfville NS, Amherst NB, Shelburne NS, & Grand Falls NB.

Montreal QC

Gatineau and Quebec City QC

Ottawa ON

Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Oakville, & Windsor ON

London, Niagara Falls, & Mississauga ON

Toronto ON

Winnipeg MB & Rouleau SK

So I've had Cities:Skylines for a while and I've recently started playing again because of the release of the After Dark expansion.

My first city I did many months ago and I was trying to gun for achievements. I ended up forcibly causing the city to become abandoned for one particular achievement, which I got...

This time though, I went for something a little more sculpted... though as the playtime has gone on it's gotten a little more sloppy.

How the city started...

Eventually it grew into this monstrous thing (I still have about 60% of the map left)...

I took particular care to joining parks and landmark buildings together in the core of the city (which if you notice, uses a "European" building set)

In parts of the city, I have streets with bus-only lanes. In other parts there are bike lanes.

It doesn't have much of a skyline, but boy is it dense.

The city of course still has a ton of issues related to city services (I blame the simulation for part of that... there's no reason a city of 110,000 should require 15 landfills, 20 cemeteries, 2 nuclear power plants, etc.).

Some pictures from the city of Rudyard.

Located just south of Sault Ste. Marie, Rudyard was a big manufacturing city until the 1980's downtown of the manufacturing industry. The city managed to stay afloat thanks to expanding it's tech sector but the main industrial area suffered and vacant lots are found through that area. The downtown hasn't seen much growth since the 80's except for one office building and the cities tallest condominium.

This is Sim City 4 with about 12GB of mods, buildings, and other stuff.
About 80% of the buildings in the pictures I've downloaded over the past few years.
It's just some of the houses and some of the smaller commercial and industrial buildings that are the original from the release of the game.
Even some of those have been re-lotted to look better.

Do these modded & downloaded buildings actually interact with the city like the original buildings? In other words, do sims actually live and work in them and travel to them, and do they get built or decay based on the wealth of a neighbourhood, or are they technically more like static landmarks?
