I'm not really feeling this tower - awkward design with very stark cladding. Either going to be awful or genius.

The glass color kind of looks like the one they used on the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.

Okay but think about why shiny and glassy is so appealing to so many people around the world . For so many people in formerly communist countries their urban landscape is just concrete . Just stone and concrete with so little artistic decoration that it becomes downright depressing . 90's-style buildings are the exact opposite so they are clearly representative of rebirth and change . Honestly , if you were there , you'd understand the appeal (although you don't really have to be there to understand)

i think bad designs are universal. wherever they may be, a bad design is a bad design. i saw a silhouette of this tower somewhere (i think SSC) were it looked like the shape has a lot of potential. but once you see the dimensions and blockyness of the tower it's pretty bad. the setbacks are so awkward, yet they're in the right height. and that spire looks horrible imo!

the federation towers are much better in quality and design. it's up to architects to realize what's a bad design and it's up to investor's to be smart about how they spend. someone once said, less is more, and this tower definitely needs less all over.

Thats how tower will most likely look at the end, there will be no spire.

This glass is just gorgeous to me. Curious as to how well it will sit with the surrounding skyline though.

Beautiful gold coloring but I can't helps but feel this construction resembles 1980 style buildings.

I endorse this building! BTW, that cladding is way more like copper than gold, but it's still awesome. Compare:

In fact, copper-ish cladding is a pretty bold choice for a building at a far North latitude. Normally you only see lustrous metallic claddings in sunnier locations.

I like it's retro-futurey feel to it. Would have like it a bit more if it was blue but it doesn't make me hate it.

Well the copper cladding shouldn't come as a surprise, it is called "Mercury City Tower" What better way to show that name then to have the entire city cladded in a colour that's closest to the planet~

That's a good HDR. Made me actually like the glass. I don't have to look at other pages to remind me of the ugly 80's facade though.
