Canucks beat Tampa and Pittsburgh on the road? Three road wins in a row and this one without the goal every game young star?

McDavid is basically cheating, but watching anyone else try and generate offense is painful.

Casual four point night, three point third period, come from behind third period for McDavid. Just give him the Hart Trophy now.

Same issue as last year though if they don't make the playoffs. Voting will favour the top-5 player that drags their team to the postseason.

Edmonton's schedule to start the year is absolutely brutal. Things will probably be looking better by the time January rolls around.

Besides, they just beat Winnipeg.

LOL, this will make beating Winnipeg on the 24th and the 27th of the month that much more rewarding.

Matthews 'not at McDavid's level just yet,' Scheifele says: report
Maple Leafs center hasn't quite caught Oilers captain, according to Jets forward

Auston Matthews is off to a historic start with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he isn't better than Connor McDavid, Mark Scheifele said Tuesday.

"Obviously Auston's a great player. He's got a lot of skill and you watch him on a nightly basis, he makes a lot of really good plays," the Jets forward said, according to Sportsnet. "Connor McDavid has put up back-to-back 100-point seasons. He's done a lot that Matthews obviously hasn't done. Matthews is a star in this league and he's going to get better. But he's not at McDavid's level just yet."

Neither of them are on Sid's level yet.

Win a cup or three and then there's a conversation to be had.

Who outside of Toronto would actually dispute his point, though?

I'd probably annoyed too if I not only had to deal with the media on a daily basis but they were also asking my about two players not on my team and in different conferences.

Winning a team competition makes one player better than another? Good to know. By this measure Henri Richard is the best player of all time.

You can make the case that McDavid is a better player than Crosby at this point but because they're different types of players it's tough to say. McDavid is a better offensive force but Crosby is still, for now at least, a better all-around player.

McDavid is better than Matthews, though, and only someone from Toronto would try to argue otherwise.

Scheifele has developed (cultivated?) a bit of a reputation as a student of the game... the media like to ask him questions like that which they'd probably never ask other players. So in that context the question made sense.

McDavid is the most exciting player in the league to watch, he's dangerous on every play. Like watching Guy LaFleur going end to end except faster. The only problem is the rest of the Oiler players can fall into the habit of waiting for McDavid to do the scoring.
