Ya GOTTA be kidding me. I wish they'd just pull completely out rather than build this POS.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Hard Rock did pull out and they went with an AC Marriott instead of Hard Rock as the hotel flag. It certainly has an AC Marriott look to it now.

You're right. It no longer has any Hard Rock logo anywhere. Not even sure if Hard Rock is still the carrier. Super dissapointing. So tired of Atlanta getting mediocre designs. And there are folks on here who think Atlanta is world class? World class cities don't get crap like this. You would never see this built in NYC or SF or Chicago.

Trust me- you do get to see "crap" developments being built even in NYC if you explore beyond the touristy areas - the city is just so big that most only hear about the "starchitect" projects.

It would be nice to get starchitect projects again. I know there are so many factors to explain why we're not, but it still seems strange that we were getting those 25-40 years ago, but not anymore, even though Atlanta is a much bigger and more important city now.

Yes you would. Stop being dramatic.

I am pretty disappointed in the latest design though.

^^^ As a New Yorker I can verify that we have more than our share of crap architecture. Google anything by Gene Kaufman or Sam Chang.

Hoping that hard rock rendering is dated. Otherwise it’s a massive downgrade.

Any more word on the multifamily housing portion of Fuqua’s northside and 17th development?

Anyways- fdates photo from the biz journal article, but still midtown looking good!

Should be a tight budget. He does claim it will be affordable housing though, so it would make sense that the build out is on the cheap end.

Nice! Adjacent Westside Reservoir, Bankhead Station, and walkable to future BeltLine. Hopefully these projects (this, King of Plow) around Knight Park pressure more walkable redevelopment of the industrial and commercial land uses south toward Donald Lee Hollowell and eastward to the railroad tracks.

Planning permit filed to rezone 887 Howell Mill to mixed-use residential. Currently it's a large one story building that includes Bocado and several other businesses.
