I've seen it in person many times. The glass is stunning, though the tower is nothing special.

Agreed on the cladding, it's really nice. Thanks for the updates everyone. This and Hearst should make for an interesting pair.

Eh. I pass by several times per week... today was the first time I felt less than impressed. As I said, still holding judgement. It's not that relevant because the tower is filler regardless.

I'm holding out hope the blocks surrounding this tower get developed on the same scale (or bigger) soon... there are strips of low-rise shops along 8th to the south and north... I've written this before, but I think 8th Avenue could be equally impressive as 7th in another decade or two. I doubt it will ever compare with Avenue of the Americas though, which is a product of 60s zoning (and completely unique and amazing even though almost everything is a box--the scale is seen nowhere else in the world, or the city, and the raw power is stunning).

Yeah, my feeling has changed about the glass a bit. It's fine for a filler, and will compliment the 8th Ave showcases, like Hearst etc. Nothing too despicable, but nothing worth talking about too much. The glass is FINE (keyword).

^^^ Remove the street life in that pic and it's like looking at a scene out of the 60's. Absolutely love this cladding - like a trip back in time!

It's no lamer than your average NY tower. Actually, it's better than most other NY boxes.

Speak for yourself, but I definitely would not call the "average NY tower" lame.

I didn't say the average tower was lame. I said, this tower is probably better than your average NY box.

Thats not what you said, but carry on...

Back on topic, I think the cladding of this one is coming out great. The vertical fins add an interesting level of detail to the facade.

Well, at least we are getting smaller projects like this aside from the large WTC and One57 developments.

Frankly, I find this building incredible, and like it more then any other office building currently going up in NY. And yes, I mean any other office building.
