If he doesn't have the money or the resources to redo them, might as well sell them to someone who can, rather than endanger historic buildings and have a monopoly just because. He bought them for so cheap he'd make plenty of money back. And honestly nearly all of his projects are cheap, the Jung has been disappointing to say the least.
Plaza Tower is definitely the most frustrating of all of his properties. It's the last major piece of the CBD skyline to not be redeveloped, and it's in a great spot between the SMD and a resurgent Oretha Castle Haley corridor. It's eligible for Historic Tax Credits, so I don't see what the hold up is. Sell it to HRI or something, so they can convert it into a hotel, residential, or hotel/residential. The floor plates are the perfect size for any of those types of redevelopment.

I guess the apartment project deal fell through. Sad as there is a lot of untapped potential to add residential and hotel space to the region's malls.

I wholeheartedly agree. Would be interesting if it could be bought and included into SMD. It's just sad because I feel like every month I see more and more windows broken out of that building. A shame.

Great to see all these underused or blighted Canal buildings finally being dealt with.. the microapartment i.e. STRS are such a perfect reuse of the upper floors and the resulting rehabs also meaning the ground floor commerical spaces are being cleaned up too!

Didnt realize the RTA was replacing all the streetcar tracks downtown with cement around them as opposed to asphalt.. makes sense though since the asphalt crumbles around the tracks.

As we finish pouring the last of the concrete at The Julia at St. Charles, we want to give a very warm thank you to the design team at Trapolin-Peer Architects, APC. Complex pours on multiple phases with endless support - it's great having a partner in TPA!

The Tides at Orleans Marina is a luxury waterfront condominium development located on Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans. Four three-story quads, each containing four units, have private, covered parking spaces on the ground floor underneath the buildings.

The 2-bedroom, 2-½ bath units have an open floor plan with 1,750 sf of living space. All units feature private balconies on the first and second floors, walls of windows and premium finishes throughout. Private elevators bring residents directly to their first floor living room or second floor master bedrooms. An outdoor amenity area features a relaxing pool and landscaped greenspace.

The New Parish Center for St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Orleans will house the Church Office, Meeting Rooms, Classrooms, and the Church Hall.

New Orleans Science and Mathematics High School, also known as Sci High, offers specialized instruction in science, math, and technology, and provides an open door to any interested New Orleans high school student. The school now serves more than 450 students, expects to serve 600 to 700 students as it continues to grow, and has outgrown its current location in a former elementary school building.

In 2020, Sci High will move into a new facility designed by VergesRome Architects specifically to support their coursework and mission. The facility will be fully ADA accessible and will include specialty labs for biomedical, health, engineering and skilled crafts courses to support school’s emphasis on rigorous STEM courses. The new facility is located one block from the Lafitte Greenway and two blocks from the new biomedical corridor.

Due to the small site size, the school is designed with an elevated gymnasium to allow space below for parking and playground space

The Allie Mae Williams Multi-Service Center is located at 2020 Jackson Avenue in Central City. The Complex is an important resource in a neighborhood with a long history of advocacy for disadvantaged individuals and groups. In addition to the designated programs of child care, senior citizen care, public health services and educational opportunity training, the Complex is a hub of political and social activity. It provides meeting spaces for community forums and district planning meetings, provides rental space for a privately run health clinic and also provides basic public health screenings.

The existing Senior Center and Edna Pilsbury Buildings received roof repairs and replacement of HVAC systems. Renovations to the Multi-Media Center and Daycare Administration Building will include a Head Start Nursery facility and a branch of the New Orleans Library. The renovated facility, positioned on the Jackson Avenue frontage, will present a welcoming image for the surrounding community, connecting visually to the existing buildings on the campus while reflecting the neighborhood’s vernacular 19th and early 20th century retail architecture.
