Houston-Downtown Part I

Started at Alabama and Main and worked my way up and around Downtown. I am thrilled and feel a lot better after my short exploration! I think I am going to like it a lot here!

Wait, what did you just move down here or something?

On another note, if you want to see some cool houses and architecture near downtown, check out the historic 6th ward.

Congrats on conquering a new city. I am jealous because I love seeing new cities and I have not been to Houston.

Great photos, and hope you enjoy your new home! I can't say I particularly loved my time in Houston, but different strokes for different folks, right?

I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes Houston, and living in frequently-mocked Arizona, I guess I sort of feel like I know what our Texan forumers deal with on a regular basis

Exciting! Why don't you become a house husband? That is what I did when my partner was relocated to Boston. That is why I have so much time to take pictures and hang out on SSP.

I am enjoying the break, but will probably get tired of it. Daytime TV is certainly an incentive to jump back into the job market.

Solid show here of the architecture downtown. Maybe this talk of cooler weather and rain might turn into people out and about and a little more green in the scenery.

So, other than this ridiculous heat - it's not typical, even for here - what are you making of Houston so far?

Accept for one bad pizza experience all is great....walked down to Herman Park today...man those geese are aggressive. I love the energy I feel from here. And so many beautiful neighborhoods! Love the heat....am a Texas boy and my partner is Korean so we are in heaven and getting giddy about this coming winter. Can't wait for a few months when we are all settled and doing day to day things.

I had my hopes really really low when I moved here. But that was a waste of time. This place will do us just fine!

Very cool. Glad to see you are digging it. Houston is best if one has low expectations to begin with

You been to Montrose yet?
