They were granted conceptual approval with a few caveats, including asking the applicants to bring corrected project renderings, more detailed streetscape plans and examples of exterior construction materials when they return to the Arts Commission for final approval later this year.

Given project approval, ground breaking is scheduled for Spring 2015 and project completion is expected by 2017.

Just putting this out there, but the only people who have any business having a private elevator in a two-floor place are heavily movement-impaired elderly folks.

I don't care how rich you are, you can take the stairs one floor. Have some propriety rich folks!

But I took the feature-list to suggest that it was not a private elevator to the penthouse from the ground, but rather WITHIN the penthouse, an elevator that goes just between the two floors. The alternative being to merely a staircase between the two levels. I think the penthouse residents will still have to use the ordinary elevator to get up there (slumming it with Joe AverageInvestmentBanker)

I may be interpreting it wrong of course.

That's my reading as well since it says interior elevator. A bit much for two floors. Although, for better or worse, most luxury triplex penthouses do have internal elevators

Design received approval from the Art Commission/Historical Commission which means this has full approvals.

I doubt it. Folks that pay that much for a condo generally don't want first floor retail.

I don't recall a retail component in the mix, either. The proposed building is billed as a luxe property and privacy and anonymity is of the highest order.
