Yeah, that's pretty awful. Total butchering of a post-modernist icon (and not even for a particularly large expansion).

I haven't been following development much lately, but a few minutes of poking around urbantoronto and I've found dozens of new projects that I don't think I've seen before:

906 Yonge St.

346 Davenport

115 Dupont

183 Avenue Rd.

151 Avenue Rd.

771 Yonge St.

Gusto 501

Downtown Data Centre

Time and Space Condos (wtf?)

Power & Adelaide

Bunch of stuff on River St.

1001 Queen St. East

Loft 45

The Perry

860 Richmond St.

49 Spadina

Via Bloor

Etc.

Most of those condo proposals are already sold out.

Nice! It seems like the trajectory for projects in Edmonton is only going up. Hopefully the days of the Venetian are far behind and never to return!!!

P.S. Is this located near the old brewery site or is that in Oliver?

The Brewery site is in Oliver, this one is on Whyte Avenue where a now displaced car dealership was.

I still think they need a gigantic Cartman character somewhere.
