A University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus) Update

So the original building in the U of T Mississauga campus, built in '67, was razed about 4 years ago. The University council allowed there to be two buildings built on the land it took up before, in two phases. The First phase is complete, and was completed in 2014, and the crane, which is HIGHLY visible in a 3-5 km visibility, has been raised for the project and construction should be done by early to mid 2018.

That's nice. Hamilton needs more stuff like this and less faux historic crap.

This will be familiar for anyone who watched the Bjarke Ingels episode of the show Abstract on Netflix. BIG's Sepentine Pavillion from Kensington Gardens will be permanently set up in Vancouver:

Bibliothèque du Boisé, Montreal.

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) have awarded Montreal’s Bibliothèque du Boisé with the annual Green Building Award for 2017. Designed by the trio of Consortium Labonté Marcil, Cardinal Hardy and Eric Pelletier architectes, the library is situated in the city’s Saint-Laurent district, and received the distinction as an example of “buildings that are environmentally responsible and promote the health and wellbeing of users.” Source
