The Dalplex addition opened on Friday. I stopped in and it looks pretty great.

Work has also started on the greenway that will link Spring Garden and Morris.

Nice to see sidewalks in that Sexton parking lot!! There's a lot of pedestrian traffic back there.

A bunch of houses behind the Arts Centre are fenced off, so I guess it's this

Yes, the arts centre is underway. They're also getting going on the quad on the main campus.

The IDEA building is having its grand opening Wednesday, October 10th and Dalhousie invites members of the Dalhousie University community to attend. Tours of the renewed campus are going to take place.

New Dalhousie on-campus arena set to open in 2023

Quote:
“The Dalhousie Event Centre will provide an on-campus home for student ice-related programming (intramurals and clubs), varsity athletics, and the broader Dal community. Featuring an NHL-sized ice sheet with an alternate floor surface, a state-of-the-art physiotherapy clinic and event spaces with catering capabilities, the centre will be a dynamic and inclusive space for Dalhousie and the greater Halifax community.”

The new 1,000-seat facility is set to open in the fall of 2023.

I have been waiting for the arena update for years. I had really hoped that the capacity would be between 2 and 3 thousand. But nope, 1000 seats. Honestly, what is the point of Halifax having another 1000 seat indoor arena when SMU's new Duaphinee Centre has 800 seats and its a short walk away? Let alone the fact that Dal's enrolment is 3x that of SMU's. This is so disappointing. It would have been so nice to have the Dauphinee Centre at 800 seats, the Dal arena at 2,500 seats, the Forum at 5000 (ish) seats after the renovation and the Scotiabank Centre at 10,000 seats. But nope, they just had to trigger my OCD.
