I think the old WTC looked better then this. It anchored the skyline better with a focal point.

Well its nice to see that plan wanted to rebuild the original 7 WTC lol.

So Heres my thoughts on the new World Trade Center. Its a very exciting project and I cant wait for something big to be finished at the site. One World Trade Center has my main likings to the project. 1 WTC I think will reach the level that the Twin Towers did when it comes to being an icon and it will bring alot to New York. I find 1 WTC to be the one building they HAVE to complete at the site. The Tower lives up to the Twin Towers in my views and is perfect for the site. Something I feel should be done at the World Trade Center is too bring some of the old characteristics to the new site that was from the old. Like those NYC company banners outside and have concerts and stuff at the site, make it like a friendly reminder to people so they have a happier thought when visiting. Now something I find difficult to work with when building the site is the memorial. Apart from the rest of the site I feel it shouldnt be a area of advertising and vending or such ideas because isnt that kinda disrespectful? Something that also came across my mind is the over the top modern stuff at the site, which kinda gets hectic. The Site doesnt really need all this plastic-e white interior, that just really doesnt make since in my mind... what if everybody's shoes are dirty lol. I really dont see why they have a Path Station as a building... probably the most usless thing Ive seen at the site.. shouldnt they be building a Tower 6 instead of a path station?? I'm mainly glad with how things work in the west side of the site, The Memorial and 1 WTC combine really well and the retail underneath really works well in my mind. So I guess this is what I got to say on the new World Trade Center, thoughts?

I agree except put a spire on both towers...that sucker would look sick! I like the design of the building.

This building looks boring. Just boring. Earlier proposals were much better.

I dunno, I guess you could say the old WTC were amazing, but in truth they were just two huge boxes.

The previous design of Freedom Tower was actually looking like what it was supposed to symbolize...

That's how I'd describe the new WTC design, amazing yet simple.

It is simple, but not amazing in my eyes. Just regular. Towers 2 and 3 are better, imo.

I think that what I like most about this tower is that it's very classy and elegant. I like some of the other designs but they didn't have that classy, well built, feeling. A lot of them looked cheap and too distracting. It's like they were screaming for attention. The current FT has a simple and elegant design that doesn't try to distract the eye from the rest of the skyline and from the complex itself. Yet its sheer size and gem-like shape will attract your eye without you having to notice.

You are completely entitled to your opinion but at the moment I may have to call you crazy. This building is the height of the old North Tower, not a 1000 foot building with a giant cage on top. It would have looked better maybe if the floors were filled in but massive exposed concrete/metal colums and cables are for bridges, not supertall buildings, much less a combination of the two. You just can't make that look good, no matter what you do.

No, I`m not talking about the one with the cage. Perhaps some that came before? BTW, where can I see all the previous versions of the Freedom Tower?

It still amazes me that Libeskind was chosen to design the WTC at first. His buildings would have been a blight on downtown for decades. Thank goodness that mistake only caused delays and not actual buildings.

Ugh, those initial designs literally make me sick to my stomach. I can't believe even one single person got behind those proposals.
