Maplewood a historic, inner-ring suburb of St. Louis recently opened Sunnen Station, a 174-unit four-level, wood-framed, multi-family building across from a Metro station.

Location is three miles from Washington and Fontbonne universities.

This metro area appears so large and sprawled out, it seems like it will never be filled in or satisfied in our lifetime.

^ Tons of flat farm land as far as the eye can see and no regulations from the state/county/cities on protecting it and encouraging dense development instead of sprawl.

I'm always jealous of cities with hills (cincy, pittsburgh) where it seems sprawl crept outward at a slower rate.

We don't really need to "fill" the metro. We need to re-fill the city, which is only 62 square miles (on the small side for US cities). And, yeah, it generally takes a few generations for cities to fill up. In the meantime, people go about their lives in them.

Here's a really nice fan rendering of the two new towers going up next to Busch Stadium.

It's spliced together from 2 separate renderings.

One Cardinal Way on the left at 29 stories, and 200 S Broadway on the right at 33 stories.
