They're starting to tear down the warehouse behind Azure 1 and 2. I think they're making way for the third tower at Southgate?

Lots of work being done on Azure 1/2 sites

Currently construction site is closed. My other observations: lots of heavy truck traffic because of construction and existing logistics companies. Lots of illegally parked vehicles: too close to intersection, stop sign, cross walk, some vehicles parked right on cross walk etc. complete lack of any signs to regulate parking.
Total mess in my opinion, more looks like no mans land…..

I've only been in the area once and I was going to say the same thing. They need to remove some of the parking because it's crazy watching trucks trying to get through there.

It's crazy how there is a huge plot of warehouse land in the middle of a residential area. Pickup trucks are constantly coming and going at 1 am in the morning.

Looking at the reviews for these nearby warehouses, it must be a nightmare living nearby. I'm hoping that entire plot of warehouse land can be teared down to build condos at this point
Plus the construction of that hockey arena and Southgate city is just another nightmare

which one was there first? warehouses or residential? if the warehouses were there first, then the residents have no valid basis for complaints.

It was industrial long before it was residential.

It's like people that move beside the train yard in New West and complain about the noise.

Noise and kids getting run over by dump trucks are a bit different.

I think it's disingenuous to tell people not to buy there or have kids running around the area.

The city of Burnaby built a high school across the street from all the warehouses and agropur. There's also Stride elementary school and a daycare right NEXT to the dairy factory.

And for heaven's sake, they're building a hockey arena NEXT to the warehouses. There will be hundreds of kids walking around the warehouses from morning to evening.

Right now, the city of Burnaby is essentially telling families to move here. We have tons of amenities for your kids, schools, daycare, a community center, and it's a couple of blocks from Skytrain! But don't mind the dozens of pickup trucks going in and out of the warehouses every hour, it'll slowly get sorted out in 20 years!

true to a point. but with all these things, wouldn't it be better to keep the kids away from the busy warehouse area? it cant be that hard to be able to keep your kid safe from the perils of busy roads.

Such a sad story and shouldn't have happened.
Thats billion dollar Burnaby's lack of pedestrian infrastructure contributes to this. They are the richest municipality in north america and spend very little on walking safety.

Take a look at the map. As others have said, Burnaby is trying to make this into family residential.
