Every fan had those fears to varying degrees going into the game. What it comes down to is choosing loyalty and faith over that fear. That choice was not illogical or purely emotional either. There was already precedence for the Canuck's ability to come back after severe defeats.

The Andrew Ference goal, Luongo literally moved out of the way of the puck. The only other goalie I've seen do this is Troy Gamble. With Luongo's confidence completely shot, I think we have a better chance in game 7 with Schneider.

PS Nice to see Mark Messier's face on such a miserable night.

Glad to hear the downtown liquor stores were closed early to assist the "world class" (according to Mayor Moonbeam at least) crowd . What a pigsty they left behind.

Yeah. They were probably leaving really early, cause Luongo let in 3 goals all within, probably the first 5-7 minutes of the game. Unbelievable. The game was literally over before the first period ended. I don't know how Luongo can be so good at home, and terribly awful on the road. Is that the mental part of his game that's lacking?

I've said this before, but I think Luongo's confidence is terribly fragile. For a guy being paid 10 million dollars a year (cap hit 5.3), he should have a bit more confidence in his own game. I feel more comfortable with Schneider in net, than I do with Luongo.

yeah, the first goal silenced everyone in the bar where i was here in sf, aside from the bartender and his cronies in the corner, who literally speak with the boston brogue. by the fourth goal, people were mentioning how far they were behind at work, and how maybe they might not get a second pint, etc.

all i can say is that if luongo blows a direct shot like that on early on in the game, i hope that vigneault pulls him right away, so that it's only 1 goal, something manageable. hoping and praying it won't come to that, obviously, but if it does, schneider is pretty solid, and vancouver can scrap out a win down a goal, no prob.

Well, game 7 is 17 hrs away. I do want to thank the 2010-2011 canucks for an unforgettable season and an amazing playoff run.

IMO a sports franchise truly embeds itself in a city's psyche if it changes the city, and the nucks certainly have made their stamp. It certainly helps when the team captain and his brother donate millions of dollars to the children's hospital , but to see the outpouring of this shared experience has been amazing. Perhaps even better than the olympics as the cup run had better weather...

Go canucks!

Step right up folks, place your bets on a riot.. I'm betting there's a 60% chance.

I'm honestly standing on my head thinking about a riot. With tens of thousands of people now crowding in the pedestrian-friendly streets of downtown and a really feverish Canucks spirit.... who knows what could happen.

Sadly, win or lose, these playoffs have be tainted by some horrible, horrible officiating. A joke really.

If Vancouver as a team has made one fundamental strategic error, it's putting up with Luongo's hot/cold play.

Schneider should become their starter, and Luongo should be traded. (but error #2, they pay Luongo too much, which makes him a millstone if you're trying to trade him)
