I prefer Option II, it preserves much of the old historic warehouse facade that fronts Spanish Plaza, while also opening up the riverfront. I've always admired those facades and was sad to see it on the chopping block in the previous scheme.
Man the ADA is brutal thats why especially for something like this and as a transit connector it has to have the ability for people to get over those tracks all the time

this demo contract for the Oil and Gas building refers to the project as Canopy Hilton so I think its safe to say that flag is what we are getting... possible there may be some slight changes from before but I think if so will be very little. Either way will be nice to get this major eyesore back into commerce

Density, height, location, traffic, styling... A LOT of opposition on this project. Over 400 comments against it on the neighborhood FB group. A special meeting was held with the area Councilwoman last week and there was a large turnout all against it. I don't see it going forward as shown.

I don't mind the appearance so much but the location is totally wrong for this type of project.

One of the Realtors said the ceiling heights will only be 8' which makes zero sense aside from cramming as many as possible in under the height restriction. Then again the views are non-existent, no reason to have 10' or 12' heights to look over an auto shop or the Causeway/Airline cloverleaf.

Proposed mixed use for 1560 Tchoup in prelim stages will be a game changer for that industrial area. Large metal warehouse taking up 1/2 a block across from the concrete plant. Hotel and commercial space are a definite. Condos may be incorporated on the rear end facing the river. Would be pretty great unobstructed views. Zoning clearance for 85' up front for 8 story hotel, 190 ft rear for condo at 17 stories.

Those shots are impressive. It's the first time I can remember seeing a picture of the elevated drop-off and pick-up areas.

Seems like a lot of car dealerships in urban areas are moving to these denser parking garage configurations. I have heard that the former Veterans Ford and now Matt Bowers Ford is contemplating a similar project on their site.
