Not excited. Another game similar to the disaster of cities in motion 2?

Not a train or bus in sight. Lame.

That was my biggest complaint with Cities Xl. Lack of train options and the bus system was flawed. At least SC4 had options for mass transit on a level that XL doesn't have. And with mods, a great train network could be built.

There are trains , this is the alpha version. Trams , regional rail , metros are coming and you can see buses in the videos.

How do you even get a working copy of SimCity 4 anymore? I had one, figured I'd never play it again, and gave it away. Got a severe craving to play it again years later, and even found a copy for sale at Mal*Wart. It didn't work and by that point, EA had moved on to their The Sims obsession and didn't really give a cold shit about it.

The power of Cities XL with mods:

This one is ridiculous. Wow...

^ And how much of that is organic growth vs ploppable buildings?

Using ploppable buildings takes all the fun out of the game imo.

Most of these cities would be unachievable using organic growth. Most mods themselves do not have a growth feature and are LOTS or PROPS essentially. Its the same for SC4.

But still, this is still the best city builder currently. In terms of simulation, SC4 wins hands down, but XL provides the graphical aesthetic quality that SC4 is missing.

XL is more of a sandbox whereas SC4 is better for raw simulation and urban challenges. Of course SC4 could also be a sandbox in terms of creating a visually pleasing city.

WHY can't they just upgrade SC4? I want an upgraded SC4!!! I want to expand my cities into regions, build megalopolises, build build build! And fuck the elementary school teachers and hospital workers (they are ALWAYS on strike, no matter what you do).

So Far I'm liking this game...although there are a few things I don't like..
-4x4 Lots
-Small Farms , should be semi - realistic with large farms
-No Terraforming , just a map editor
- can't sell things between cities

Anybody play SimCity Build It? (Free App). I started to play. Badly addictive, but not very much fun (that may make no sense, but a lot of app games are like that).

Best app game (ever): Lords of Waterdeep.
