On topic, are the first 3 buildings of Plaza 88 all strata? Or is one rental already?

I dislike the unpainted concrete... It doesn't make the buildings feel modern

I believe they were all Strata but when you purchased you had the option to throw it into a rental pool managed by one company.

How much in fees would they charge for such a service?

So I took the Skytrain through this place yesterday, and it seems like it's filled in quite nicely. Lots of people there on a Sunday, shops seemed open and not a lot of empty spaces.

Good for it/them.

Came across these renderings of the ground level of Plaza 88 Tower 4 -
Don't know how current these are (I thought the building was on hold):

Hopefully they improve the pedestrian crossing into Columbia Square when this tower is complete. Half the time it feels like I'm running for my life through that crosswalk.

They need to fix the 3way stop too at the bottom of the overpass.

That whole section of downtown is a mess, and one councillor is open to suggestions.

Yeah, that's the one I meant.

I don't think anyone has a problem with the one with the crosswalk. Much less traffic on 10th.

Looks like this one is slowly progressing after all.

Fourth tower at Plaza 88 to go to public hearing

A proposal for the largest single rental tower in Western Canada will go to a public hearing at the end of September after the developer, Degelder Group, further refined its plans to address council concerns about the building's size and unit mix, as well as its impact on the surrounding neighbourhood.

While the fourth tower of Degelder's Plaza 88 development will still be 39-stories tall, the parking podium will be reduced from six stories to five and it will be set back a further nine feet from Carnarvon Street.

The tower will also feature more two-and three-bedroom units and fewer studio and one-bedroom apartments than previously proposed. Of the 398 units, 172 will be studios, 72 will be one-bedroom, 132 will be two-bedroom and 22 will be have three bedrooms.

Nice! I like the podium of the new tower, with ground level retail that will help extend retail convenience of the area from the station to the strip mall neighbourhood. Good planning!

"largest single rental tower in Western Canada"

Somehow, that doesn't feel right.

There must be some sort of mistake. All the floors are numbered sequentially, starting at one with no missing or phantom floors. What kind of madness is this!!!????

Is it true that this tower is going to be mostly rental? I certainly would be excited if so.

Yep, entirely rental. If I'm not mistaken, there are two more nearby rental towers planned to go up in the next little while. The Beverley, at 508 Agnes Street, and the other at 57 Sixth Street.

Those last two buildings are almost next door to each other.

Also a mid-rise at about 310 Agnes Street, kitty-corner to Qayqayt Elementary School.
