Retail listing recently came up for the Friedman tower on Clark. Says construction will begin September 2019 and it will have two hotels, a LeMeridien and an AC Hotel.

The same brand as the one a few blocks away at Rush & Ontario? I wonder if they plan on moving and vacating that one then. Regardless, great news and good to potentially get a good hotel like Le Meridien in Chicago.

Great news!

I am doubting that AC Hotel will abandon that other space. It literally just became an AC Hotel about 2-3 years ago after an extensive renovation.

With the size of Chicago’s tourism market, it’s not inconceivable to have two of the same flag only a few blocks apart, is it?

Considering there's like seven Marriotts and ten Hyatts downtown, not at all out of the ordinary. One will just be called like "AC Marriott River North" and the other will be called maybe "AC Marriott Riverwalk".

In addition, Glassdoor is expanding, signing the first 52,000 sf lease (2 floors) for 1375 W. Fulton.

On that note, it was just approved by DPD too:
