I wonder if something will be built on the site of that parking lot, corner of Bay and King. It's asking for it now.
On the south-east corner of Bay and King, where the parking lot for the old Board of Education building was, there are plans for two 12 storey condos with a retail podium. I haven't heard anything yet for the other corner, but I hope something will be going in there soon. The owners for the parking lot at Bay and Main (the one to the south of the new Hilton) are waiting to see if the developments surrounding it do well before they build anything on the lot. Same goes for the owners of the lot right next to the BMO across the street that was a used car dealership.
It's great to see something unique in color. I hope the greyscale tone to the hotel stays this way. It's really different and it looks great with the dark-tinted windows. The rendering looks like some adobe color, I hope they dont spray it a different color later.

I've driven by the hotel both yesterday and today and the framing for the glass on the base is being installed. Looks like most of the base (floors 1-3) is going to be floor to ceiling glass.
I like the angle of that first shot, with the brick in the foreground.
This hotel won't be a head-turner but it's a step up from the one he built at Caroline and George so I'm pleased about that. And it's desperately needed, so there you go.
Looks great. I guess Bella Towers (I hope he changes his mind on the name) will be taking shape in the next months. I wonder what it'll end up looking like.
When is the guy who owns that corner lot going to show his face? He's been sitting on that thing for decades. Jerk.

I remember reading in a news article somewhere that he is waiting to see how Bella Towers sells before he starts something. The owner of the parking lot/used car dealership next to the BMO across the street is doing the same thing. That's good news cause if Bella towers do sell then there will be 2 more condo projects surrounding it.
I wonder what they have planned restaurant/ bar-wise. It would be nice if they could incorporate something with a patio.
The restaurant is going to be at the north-east corner of the building, looks like it could have a patio on Bay St. like the original plans for the green glassed Hilton called for:
