The 2018 Production system promises reliable metal printing up to 100 times faster, with 10 times cheaper initial costs and 20 times cheaper materials costs than existing laser technologies, using a much wider range of alloys.

100x faster

Breakthrough Single Pass Jetting (SPJ) process delivers speeds up to 8200 cm3/hr–100x faster than laser-based systems. With zero-tooling needed, it’s the fastest way to manufacture complex metal parts.

20x lower cost
Low-cost MIM powder, high throughput, and simple post-processing deliver per-part costs that are competitive with traditional manufacturing processes—and up to 20x lower than today’s metal 3D printing systems.

That looks super interesting. It has the potential to change a lot of things.

What I find amazing about 3D printing is the breadth of its applications and processes. I think we have still seen only the tip of the iceberg as far as 3D printing is concerned.

I am currently preparing an article about 3D printing and how it will change the world of Architecture in my website Architect Gadgets. I will probably use this one as part of it! :-)

How many houses and simple apartments could we build using this technology? They could be simple houses that could help fight the homeless problem, or in 3rd world countries, built on the cheap, using recycled building materials! Why not??

welcome to ssp!

sorry, but this isn't a how to thread, it's more like just kind of a collection of info about 3D printing news.

maybe someone knows though? good luck and let us know what you find out.
