I grew up in Honolulu so it's always been common place for me. I mean, you could even by Chinese Dim Sum at 7-11 (like Char Siu Bao or Shumai), Lumpia to Sushi it was so mainstream.

We also had what's called the Manapua (the Hawaiian nick name for Char Siu Bao) Man that would go to each neighborhood just like the Ice Cream Man to sell Chinese Dim Sum to Soda, Candy and Cigarettes!

Before my childhood the Chinese "Manapua" Men used to do it by foot!

I shop at Asian groceries 3-4 times/month. If they had a T&T closer to me I'd go there as well.
