It's a mixed-use apartment building. Looks like a courtyard. Most apartment buildings in St. Louis have verandas or courtyards.

Love the design and finally some height. Hope BJC follows suit with another 10+ story building on Duncan.

Progress on Phase II of Ballpark Village. I think there's about 10 floors to go on the residential tower.

Time to share some progress photos of some projects going on around town.

Ballpark Village continues to come along. Progress has been steady.

The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station has been fully erected.

One Hundred continues to rise over Forest Park.

Midtown's Steelcote Lofts have been completed. The first move-ins started last week. These Lofts are in a current industrial area that the developer plans on turning into St. Louis' version of Nashville's "Gulch" area.

900 South 4th Street (built in 1887) building is being brought back to life. 3 Apartments and commercial space are going into the 3-story structure just South of Downtown. Midtown Locust Properties is the developer and they say a tenant has signed up for the commercial space. The tenant will be moving from Brentwood. The building will retain its original flooring on the 2nd and 3rd floors, original door frames, wooden steps, and wood accents. A new elevator was added. The building has been vacant since the mid-1980s. Completion is scheduled for late August. The redevelopment started last September and cost $600,000.

The former One AT&T Center, now simply 909 Chestnut, will officially close on its offer this month. i've also gotten word that an architecture firm is moving into space on the 19th floor but I will not name them as nothing has been put out to press yet.

This would explain the increase in lights i've noticed on the interior over the last month or so. I do hope exterior renovations, including big lighting elements, get done as well.

I am almost certain that Clayco is the one buying the building. If so, I expect the Lamar Johnson Collaborative (the LJC) to move in.

Square doubling down, expanding significantly & move downtown

Square Inc. is going to have a big expansion here in STL over the coming years. Currently, they have about 500 employees in the Cortex district of the Central West End, and will max out there at about 700. The new office will be in the former Post-Dispatch building in downtown and expand up to nearly 1,400 workers in a 15-year lease.

This is hopefully yet another positive indicator in the renaissance of downtown St. Louis, in addition to the impending announcement of the sale and redevelopment of 909 Chestnut's 1.4 million sq ft of space.

My lips are sealed, but it comes from a person working directly on one of their projects currently in the metro area.
