Operating Engineers also run the Construction Elevators. So those are dead too. Not much material movement at all. I would imagine there will be a lot of pressure to get these guys back to work. Lots of dollars in play.

The philly.com article has been updated with much more detail:

http://www.philly.com/philly/busines...-20170627.html

Also mentions the previous brief work stoppage:
Quote:
The union shut a few jobs earlier in the month, Danese said, but returned to work at the request of Mayor Kenney, who met with both sides June 21 and asked them to continue negotiating.

Here's the part that pisses me off . " IF " Comcast really has plans to build a third skyscraper of ANY height , why didn't they just add a
dozen floors or more to make this tower's roof line 1,121' rather than building a smaller tower at another location .

Not that it matters here but while trolling through the forum I came across two blogs from both S.F. and LA .
The argument revolves around which city has the tallest tower west of the Mississippi . Proponents in S.F. claim the title because the roof
line of SalesForce Tower is higher than the Wilshire Grand in LA ...... and a post by Totojuice , ( post # 4008 ) on the Wilshire Grand site
has a legitimate argument .

I really , really like CITC , but when looking at it from afar , it seems a bit subservient to the Comcast Tower because of it's lack of higher
roof line substance ........ Maybe if that little shoe box size cooling tower mass was three or four times larger ..... maybe .

Not sure why it matters. It's a great looking building that changes our skyline. Worrying about people in other cities bragging that their buildings are taller seems rather trivial.

Looks like CTC moved from yesterday's position. Hopefully, contract dispute ends very soon and people get back to work.

Yes , it does matter . So does every other object that has the nerve to stick it's pointed little head up out of the
ground . I'm not contesting it's presences , just it's roof line height .

To conclude , don't confuse worrying with curiosity .
