Surprisingly beautiful! Judging from the pictures, Boise really looks like a hipster city.

Just returned from a 4 day visit, my brother moved here 2 months ago from Portland. This is a great town- there really are a ton of great restaurants etc in the compact downtown and a lot of pretty historic architecture. The Boise River and Green Belt walking paths are gorgeous. I can see the allure of this place, especially for Portland and Seattle residents weary of skyrocketing housing prices, rain and traffic. Outdoor activities are so accessible here too, with skiing like 30 mins up the hill, tons of running/biking trails winding through town, etc. Photo thread coming soon

I think as Boise grows that this city will become its own "brand" similar to a Portland or Denver. It has already gotten there to some extent and has unique attributes that define the city and set it apart from the others.
