Man, its a close call between Pittsburgh and STL over urban awesomeness. I may just have to go with STL. That city had just so much amazing mid 19th to late 19th century architecture. But, STL is also one of the most tragic cities Ive ever seen with how much shit urban renewal happened there. But maybe I will always like STL the most because it was the first city Id been to that had huge dense urban environments that I was never used to seeing in Arkansas or Texas. It was my first taste of eastern city density. Its the brick that gets to you. New Orleans may be a super dense southern city but its mostly wooden architecture. STL is the furthest west east coast city imo.

Xing-- let's be instagram buddies!

PhotoLith-- Don't cry for us! Our population loss is no doubt dramatic, but St. Louis has been here for 249 years, and it's not going anywhere. There is still so much to be proud of in this gritty old bitch.

I'm gonna track you down on Instagram, Sasso! That building you asked about is the Washington Terrace gatehouse, one of the opulent private places of the West End. There's actually an apartment inside- how cool would it be to live in that?
