Edmonton recycling and composting facility photo thread!

A friend just toured his grade 5 class through the recycling & composting facility. Since the Edmonton waste management, composting and recycling facility has been in the news lately I thought some of you might be interested to see what all the 'stink' is about! Here are some pix (posted with permission... thanx Alain L.)

Coooool

I like these types of threads. The fifth last pic is rather neat, with all the TV sets stacked up.

Edmonton is light years ahead of Calgary when it comes to waste management and recycling.

Really cool facility, thanks for providing some pics! What will happen here once the landfill is decomissioned? Im guessing the recycling/composting will still take place at Clover Bar, but does anyone know if there is expansion in the future? Finally, how feasible is it to turn organic waste into electric energy?

Leading NA in waste management is something that Edmonton should be proud of. Let's keep it up!

Largest stainless steel structure in NA...if not the world.

And they need it.

The atmosphere in there can (and does) eat straight through I-beams. H2S + moisture = good times.
