Oakland: The Lost Set

A few weeks ago I was going through an old set I did on Oakland and noticed a couple pictures that I had overlooked before; with a little cropping, I got results that were good enough to make me wonder if I had any other shots I had glossed over in the archives. The act of going through each and every Oakland set I had took a while (I had well over 10,000 shots of Oakland) but eventually I had enough shots to make a set, which is what I'm posting here. If anything, the process made me appreciate just how long it took to really get to know Oakland.

Great set, as usual, Nineties. Thanks for your pics.

Do you prefer living in Oakland or in SF? Oakland is very nice too as I can see.

I would have liked to visit Oakland in our last and only visit to SF, but we had time to visit only San Francisco, though nearly completely.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Cool pics!! Haven't seen too much of Oakland, but at first glance, it seems like a much different city compared to its counterpart across the bay!!

I've found myself passing over certain images that on first inspection were generally not great shots. However, sometimes after reassessing the photos I'll start to see things I missed before. After post processing them I am generally surprised I skipped over them in the first place.

Nice thread.

Nice work as usual.

How's the other side of the Bay treating you?

@Danny & Arkitekte: I like aspects of SF more than Oakland and aspects of Oakland more than SF. I'll wait to make definitive statements though until I've been here a little longer.

@OkayYou: It sort of makes me want to go back through all of my photos but... lol.

@kcexpress69: Yeah they're two very different cities.
