Vancouver BC, a Collection from 2008

Here is a slightly random collection of my scattered photos of Vancouver from the past year:
(I apologize for the odd picture sizes.)

Vancouver skyline in April 2008

Vancouver is new and old, somewhat:

Around the Canada Line construction downtown:

A random downtown scene:

Views from Queen Elizabeth Park

Views of the Olympic Village in July 2008

Evening at False Creek

The downtown from Kitsilano & Jericho Beach

Queen Elizabeth Park in August

Views near the Olympic Village, September 2008

Newly built island near the village

On the Cambie street Bridge

An unusual condo design, the Grace residence, near downtown

Condos, park and seawall near False Creek

The seawall, False Creek North

The central downtown area, Art Gallery, Robson Square etc.

Downtown, Granville Street

Vancouver Public Library

Looking up near the Shangri-La Hotel

Various scenes in the downtown area

The Woodwards project in the background

Familiar view of Coal Harbour, April 2008

The skytrain near False creek

New construction near the east end of downtown

Beach in Stanley Park, Dec 2008

Georgia Street

That's all for this year, actually last year, thanks for viewing !

My other most recent thread of Vancouver can be found here

I'm digging the sanitized glass that seems to be ubiquitous of Vancouver.

Very good thread -- I'm loving the myriad of hues.

Sandy, I was just going to say that shot from the Cambie Street bridge is wonderful. All of the photos are great, but that one in particular is my favorite.

Vancouver certainly is a stunning city. It's no surprise it consistently ranks near or at the top of numerous "most livable cities" lists.

Fantastic photos.

I visited Vancouver about 12 years ago and I hardly recognize it. I need to go back - and maybe not leave.
