I wonder if it will be anything like what they did at the pediatrics center over by Dell Children's Hospital. More pictures here: http://freedomsolarpower.com/portfol...tly-pediatrics

^Yeah, I didn't realize they had solar panels all over the place up there. I went up in that garage for some views of the skyline and only then noticed that the awning was covered with panels.

I can't imagine they'd plan for an open garage, right? These condos are all at least ~$400k, going up to several $million. I don't know of any other condos that have open parking for residents, so it'd be strange to have it here unless it was guest parking, but usually that's on the bottom floor, not the top.

Have you noticed on the webcam for the building is almost out of the frame at the top? They will have to adjust it otherwise it will no longer show the upper floors as they are being built.

Four Seasons Residences has no roof on the top level of their garage, just car port like covers, but the road area is still open to the sky. Looks ugly from above and I bet some lower residences hear/see the parked cars.

And they paid much more!

This is going to be such a masterpiece for Austin. Love the design and glass color. As always wish it was taller, but either way great for Austin.

Howdy ya'll, longtime lurker on this forum, finally got around to making a username. Was walking along Cesar Chavez on wednesday and got some pictures of the Independent and the rest of the development going on there.

Hopefully attaching imgur images like that works here... I feel like this forum software if from 1998...

edit: apparently not, so here's the link http://imgur.com/a/dN1uG

edit 2: thanks jbssfelix

If you type the direct URL (has to be the .jpg one) into your post like the following, you can direct-post images.

I often follow the Austin pages on here-- lived there for a few years (2009-2010ish) and still have a lot of close friends there so kinda follow what's going on. All the development around Seaholm/Greenwater is amazing the past few years. When I was there I believe 360 just opened, Austonian topped out shortly after and a few others were under construction. I went back last summer and it was almost unrecognizable, especially this area with all the new construction. Needless to say, I think most cities are envious

Nice photos, myBrain. I especially like that last one next to the library with the 2nd Street bridge. I'm looking forward to wandering around there and checking out the views. It's turning into a unique place in downtown with the creek views and all.

Cool. That's going to be a good view of 5th & West, too, for a little while. They'll need to move it again before this thing tops out. I wonder if they'll move it to another building like maybe 360 Condos?

EDIT: I added the construction cam link to the first post of this thread.

Its already out of frame on my laptop. Unless its just my computer, or they need to raise it again. I can barely see the floor they are working on. I think construction cams are pretty cool. I especially liked the one used on the JW. If I recall, they had a calendar where you could click on a date. It made it easier to track the progress and see how many days it took to complete a level.
