Wasn't this one canceled?

On hold

This tower is approved, but it has been on hold indefinitely. I was able to obtain a huge packet with photos and information about this tower about three years ago. A tower of this height is overdue in New Orleans.

I will believe this is being built when I see dirt being moved. In the meantime while this project was on hold...a local developer built a 21 story apartment building a few blocks away and the 23 story 200 Carondelet building was also converted into apartments.

This has to be the time that New Orleans redeem itself after hurricane katrina 5 years ago.

That's an old rendering. The last proposal was more like this.

At this point it's a big if either way.

Wow, what an ugly base. The height is nice, but I'm not gonna start salivating just because it's tall. A shitty building is still shitty even when it's 842'.

At any rate, there haven't been any new developments on this tower except sporadic announcements from "connected" people who claim the thing ain't quite dead yet. Of course, I've heard the same thing about Elvis.

I'm all for deleting the thread or at least locking it until we get some real news. Until then, the tower is presumed dead.

The longer buildings take to develop, it seems, the uglier they get. You'd think it would be the other way around since they could tweak the design, but I guess they make budget cuts in the design which make it suffer. Besides the parking area, I'm not so crazy about the massing. It comes off too blocky.

I wouldn't start believing at dirt being moved...Just check out West End Summit in Nashville...Excavation and everything was already taken care of...Now theres a 40 foot deep lake sitting in the middle of West End and its been that way for about 2 years now. Wasn't there a condo tower in Charlotte that was close to being topped out and construction stopped due to lack of money?

I really don't like. I don't like the base at all. They should make the the building a little more skinnier while going up.

^ Uh, massing is a big part of overall design.
