Not sure why all work seems to have stopped on this site. Great weather this week but the site is empty of workers. Could there have been a work stoppage due to accident or MOL or city building department order?

Site work has stopped on this project. The porto-potty has been wrapped in plastic. Beginning to suspect they may have had a Covid outbreak and ordered to shutdown all work on site. Haven't seen any news on this effecting this Drewlo high rise project if true.

Site work has restarted. Still very strange that they had a work stoppage like this in the first place.

Steel rebar and forming for floating raft slab under the tower portion of lot is underway. No progress on the south end parking levels.

Looks like they may have been doing the floating slab pour today because they had Talbot St closed.

Slowly making progress with forming L2 walls and posts. Drewlo is only now finishing the parking garage on their building behind the FarmBoy on Wonderland Rd. Those workers should be moving to 661 Talbot to increase the concrete forming team and pick up the pace.

Looks like they poured the SW corner L1 slab. Still working at bottom in the north end of pit.

Definitely a safe design. But looking at this compared to Drewlo's other properties, It's definitely got some character and don't hate it.

It reminds me of a student residence I lived in years ago. With all the students who live in this area, it's kind of fitting.

I don't see why people dislike this so much. Sure it isn't revolutionary, but I like it a lot more than a lot of buildings in this city.

Some people seem to believe that if it is not the Chateau Laurier or the Taj Mahal or the Burj al Arab its ugly. For every one of those there are a million perfectly functional buildings built around the world.

More interesting is the decision to not have balconies in the design. Balconies add cost and extra time to construction. They also add to maintenance costs and often become ugly storage areas. Smoking and tossing of butts over the side are also fire issues as are idiots who think its ok to have a BBQ on a balcony. Seriously the stupidity of people never ceases to shock.

Is it a dog's breakfast? Yes. But for Drewlo, this is pretty bold. Did they run out of beige concrete?
