Especially that construction has been halted since last thursday due to crane operators illegal strike... They can't afford a week without work at this time.

Sadly the NDP cancelled our big bridge project (the GMB) but we will still have a somewhat major bridge project moving forward with the new Pattullo.

there has to be more bridge structures in the city than that - is that only counting municipally owned bridges? the 401 alone probably contains 200 bridge structures through the city.

These are probably the bridges that crossed the valley in which Garrison Creek flowed. The creek was redirected into a culvert and the valley completely filled in. Buried makes sense.

Here's a blog post about stone bridges in Nova Scotia: https://halifaxbloggers.ca/noticedin...like-a-bridge/

An example, the Chignecto Ship Railway bridge from 1890

Another from 1828 in the Annapolis Valley.

Some of these are just ruins today. It's really interesting to find them randomly. I used to live near an old bridge like this, but the span had collapsed.

Don't know if this has been shared here but this is the proposed replacement of the Inglewood Bridge in Calgary. The old girl is 110 years old, so time to be replaced unfortunately. The new one is pretty basic but I don't mind it, not offensive at all and knowing Calgary it will definitely have an awesome LED fixture, so that could make notch it over to "good".
