NOOOOOO!!!, goodbye sweet crane you will be missed. Our Skyline will look naked for a few months without it.

For the greater good though.

Besides, we like naked skylines anyway.

Will be interesting to see if they open up the north wall of cityplace on the west side of the skywalk like they did with the CV office. With the skywalk connection to TNS right there, would be really nice to have that opened up. Hope they at least have a long term plan for the second floor as between Shark Club, CV offices, and several different skywalk connections, it's kind of a mess of different styles feeding into the second floor there.

It appears TN is reusing the brown panels removed from 360 Main on the stairwells/elevator shafts along Hargrave lol.

I like the orange. It gives the area a little colour and warmth. I can imagine how it will look when the trees and landscaping are completed and the fountains are flowing. It'll be nice. I'm thinking they matched it to the orange bricks of BellMTS place so that that there would be some kind of visual connection, fluidity.

Another milestone week, with the removal of the last tower crane on site at True North Square! This temporary crane has been installed on Graham to disassemble it, piece by piece.

I love this project. I love seeing Donald street on HNIC too. I've got a few of my Canadien friends cheering for Winnipeg... 'WOW look at the crowds!' they say. Yep, Winnipeg can cram them into the street with the best of them . Can't wait for that square to be complete for next year's playoffs.

I'm a Sens fan, but really, really like this Nashville Winnipeg series. Love it.

That's the same crane they used to disassemble the other tower crane. Quite the machine!

If it's not in a confined space like here on TNS, the crane just dis-assembles itself. Sometimes a smaller derrick crane will be erected on the roof to take down the tower crane - then the derrick is dis-assembled and sent down in pieces in the freight elevator.

300 main should be a fairly easy erection and dis-assembly.

...I said erection

Depends on the size of the building, im pretty sure the video i saw on youtube of a one in toronto that had to be 40 storeys, the mobile crane reached all the way to the top, there must be different mobile cranes that do certain sizes of buildings. Also, i do know that when they do jack up cranes, prior to taking them down, they sometimes will just take portions down from the jacking rig so the mobile crane can reach it easier.

the Alt hotel crane here had that process, i saw it get shorter until the mobile crane got ahold of it. We have a crane coming down today or soonish and the guys were lifting the rig up to the top yesterday, im assuming they will take a couple sections out then take the jib arm, etc.. with 300 main they could this process, or if theres enough space and if they the right mobile crane, they could reach up the the 40 storeys.

only one way to tell.
