It really is. Toronto FC was the best MLS team ever and they still couldn't bring the trophy home. It's 10 out of 10 for Mexican teams. La Liga MX's domination over the MLS continues.

LOL @ Bradley's miss. I am sorry but this is hilariously bad.

TFC did well considering they had no CBs for the second leg. Still, that's the end to the most important competition of their season. Next year, I guess.....

TFC won the game, they lost the series on penalty kicks but can hold their heads high. The Chivas fans gave TFC a standing ovation, Giovinco won the Champions League best player trophy and hometown boy Osorio won the Golden Boot. No North American team has beaten 2 Mexican teams, least of all the two best Mexican sides. Unfortunately, injuries caught up to us and a depleted side lost on penalties when a single goal could have won them the whole trophy.

Our loss in the 2016 final fueled us to a record shattering run and MLS Cup win in 2017, hopefully this narrow loss will fuel a CCL trophy win in the future. One thing is for sure, the Mexican top flight will be seeing more of us.

To me it was less disappointing then losing the MLS championship on penalties.

I'm so proud of how they played throughout the competition.

Now they can rest up, regroup and take out their disappointment on the rest of the MLS

It's gonna take an even higher record shattering payroll to beat Mexico's best!

Sorry - are TFC breaking any rules when it comes to their payroll?

Beating Mexico's best is something the Whitecaps will never have to worry about.

Also - I think Whitecaps fans should have other things on their mind. I missed your comments on this

Not till our owner coughs up that much cash. He's being pretty frugal if you ask me.

Amazing run. Cant look at penalty kicks as a real loss.
Incredible experience playing these Mexican clubs. Deep football culture.

These are century old clubs playing in 50-80k stadiums with rabid fans.

The atmosphere at Chivas was incredible. You saw how much that game meant to the mexican players and fans.

This is one of the few things I was disappointed by from TFC. BMO really looked like a rural stadium compared to the big O when the Impact had their CONCACAF run.

Compare the atmosphere when Osorio scored in the final at home with Romero's goal in the final.

Either make BMO bigger or play at Rogers Centre because 30K for a CONCACAF final is acceptable but low.

Rogers is not going to happen during baseball season with the dirt infield etc.

BMO is fine as it is right now. Maybe potential temporary seating but the way it stands now the CONCACAF Final takes place in April in sometimes bad weather. I wouldn't worry about it until TFC comes close again.

BMO is not a rural stadium compared to Olympic.

Rogers isn't their home - BMO Field is.

TFC should always play competitive games in BMO - nowhere else. Period

Agreed. Its an advantage. We play in the cold/snow. This is our house.

Rural? Got to be a joke. Its in the exhibition grounds with the Liberty Village to the north and the lake to the south.

The Big O is lame. The players are tip toeing around on carpet.

More than twice as big: CHECK
Better atmosphere: CHECK
Better architecture: CHECK

The Big O is, to date, the ONLY stadium in this country that was considered world class when it opened. If you consider it lame, that's fine (a lot of horrible decisions were made after it was built that made the stadium uglier inside). But so are every single stadiums in Canada.

Oympic Stadium at full capacity still provides, BY FAR, the best atmosphere out of anything else this country has to offer.

Wow, someone needs to visit the stadium thread to "sit under the learning tree" as Ernie Ladd used to say.
