(very severely confused)

The family-oriented apartments sound like a good thing though. =O

So I emailed the developer regarding the official height of the building. Their reply was that it will be 463.5 ft tall. Could a mod add the height to the thread title?

Nice! That will be 2 new tallest for Burnaby now! And by a good margin as well.

MetroPlace project gets final zoning approval from Burnaby City Council.
Construction will start in the fall, with completion estimated in fall 2014.

Intracorp's MetroPlace project at Beresford Street and Telford Avenue, across from the Metrotown SkyTrain station, will include a pedestrian-oriented high street with street-front shopping, like on Robson Street.

Smile Chinese numbering system used to market METROPLACE Tower

I took a series of photos at the METROPLACE Sales Centre, including several
of the exotic numbering system used to market the project to Chinese.
One wag wrote to me, suggesting we alert the Burnaby Fire Department,
so they can run a workshop on the subject for firefighters and paramedics.

Here is a photo (instead of a thousand words) which shows the missing ten floors. The photo illustrates a Blogspot article referred to earlier in this discussion thread. You will have to scroll back to find it.

I was invited to the realtor preview of the CHANCELLOR Tower,
which is today, but I've decided to pass. I have posted fresh info
on CHANCELLOR Tower, if you are interested. see at http://therunagatesclub.blogspot.com/ for April 10.
This message is not to advertise my Blog, but to point to the material.
I did stand out the pouring rain to get the photos.

All i can say is, sorry Surrey, it looks like with this development, the Chancellor, the Sovereign (Vancouver's first true suburban skyscraper) and Metrotower 3 (if it gets going again in the near future fingers crossed), Metrotown is going to further establish itself as the #2 skyline in Metro Vancouver.

Love that Beresford street render, along with Metrotown Station renovations that area is going to be vastly superior to its stat today. Also look at how tall the filler building is in the background of the render, good signs, good signs.

I like this too, because Metrotown's skyline is perched in the perfect place in metro Vancouver, it is perfectly on top of a 200 meter tall hill and is seen from so many vantage points in Metro vancouver.

^^ Due to it being more open? I do agree that whatever BIA, robson stores are a part of should make the street much more open and lively.

I wonder what stores will the area attract, due to Metrotown and future StationSquare redevelopment coming into play.

I'd wager that the place will never be as busy as that render makes it look, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

off the get go, i feel the same, but as more tower developments come along (as that render suggests) and being located directly beside the busiest mall in the Metro Area and one of the busiest stations on the skytrain network, it could happen eventually. Say, a decade or so?
