Los Angeles from the air

Here are a few aerial photos I took of Los Angeles this year. It was a bit hazy/foggy, and I took the pictures through a window, so the picture clarity is not great. Even so, I was able to take some interesting photos from a unique perspective. Enjoy!

Downtown with the Ritz-Carlton in the foreground

Harbor freeway through downtown

Downtown looking toward Hollywood

Interchange of the Century and Harbor Freeways

Container ships at San Pedro with the Vincent Thomas bridge

Paramount Studios in Hollywood

Downtown Hollywood with the Capitol Records Building in the foreground

Marina Del Rey

Condos at Marina Del Rey

The Santa Monica Pier

UCLA campus

A mansion in Beverly Hills

Another Beverly Hills mansion

The Candy Spelling Mansion - 56,500 sq ft and the most expensive house in the US

San Pedro with the Vincent Thomas bridge

Downtown with the old City Hall

The Hollywood sign

The harbor freeway through downtown

The Playboy Mansion

This might be the best "first post" ever. Fantastic pictures. The height has the benefits of aerial but gives a three-dimensional quality.

Very very nice!!! It's always interesting to me how even in a handful of L.A. area shots, you almost feel as if you're looking at multiple different metro areas at once.

Yep, there are nice, and the 3rd photo is my new wall paper. I always believe LA skyline looks the best and the most dense from the view looking west. It captures all of downtown, and not just Bunker Hill which many outsiders think that's all there is it.

One of the best L.A. threads I've seen. Be nice to see what you could come up with in other cities. Thx for sharing.
